Lyrical Dance Lessons in Matthews, North CarolinaThere are many popular forms of dance available today, but you may not have heard of lyrical dance lessons. Lyrical dance is a combination of jazz and ballet movements to accurately portray the emotions or the story of a song. At Carolina Dance Capital, we know your child will love lyrical dance lessons as part of their beginning dance classes or in addition to their other dance repertoire.

  • Portray Emotions & Stories – Lyrical dance lessons are designed to allow dancers to portray the emotions or tell a story through their movements. This is great when they are working on the expressive qualities of their movement or preparing for a theatre production that requires expressive movement.
  • Focus on Movement – Because the focus of lyrical dance lessons is primarily on storytelling, there is a focus on movement, but not as much on perfecting specific steps. As your child grows and develops in this form of dance, it may improve their ability to show emotions and expression in their other dance styles.

At Carolina Dance Capital, we offer a state-of-the-art facility with injury prevention floors, two way mirrors, and a fun atmosphere. We are a family owned and operated studio with a passion for dance that began with Nina’s first dance lesson – and we love providing opportunities for your children to learn this art form in the Matthews, North Carolina area.  If you are interested in learning more about lyrical dance lessons or one of our other dance classes for your child, please come by and see us or call for more information.
