Competitive dance offers dancers an opportunity to be a part of a team and experience doing something they love in a new environment. Competitive dance can help a dancer grow and develop personally and gain new skills. Dancing competitively on a team also teaches life skills (like how to work together to meet a common goal) and can lead to life-long friends and great relationships.
Our competitive dance program at Carolina Dance Capital was formed to provide our dancers with these opportunities to further their dance experience. Our greatest hope is to nourish the love of dance in our students. For dancers looking to expand their horizons and become part of a competitive team, we offer a fantastic program. Our nationally award winning competitive dance teams allow dancers to progress at their own pace and with their own level. Students are placed according to age and ability and are taught by experienced instructors. Auditions are held in August for those in the Matthews, NC area.

- Dancers take technique classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop. Special classes include acro, stretch, and leaps & turns.
- Dancers are encouraged to participate in competitions by dancing solos, duets, and trios. This offers an even greater opportunity for personal growth as a dancer.
- Master classes are taught intermittently throughout the year.

At Carolina Dance Capital, our competitive dance program welcomes students from Charlotte, Matthews, Weddington, Waxhaw, Gastonia, and Pineville, North Carolina, as well as Fort Mill and Rock Hill, South Carolina.
